Four people killed as a two-wheeler collided with a lorry parked on national highway
Tirupur: Four people were killed when a two-wheeler collided with a lorry parked on the side of the national highway. Balamurugan (25) of Boluvampatti and Kutty (24) of Chettipalayam were killed when four in an Activa scooters collided head-on with the back of a lorry parked on the Salem-Coimbatore National Highway in the Ittivirampalayam area near Avinashi in Tirupur district at around 3 this morning.
Their bodies were taken to Tirupur Government Hospital for autopsy. Also, Balamurugan (23) of Pandian Nagar area of Tirupur district and Anand (26) of Chettipalayam area who were admitted to Avinashi Government Hospital succumbed to their injuries.
The Perumanallur police have registered a case. All four were drunk and went on the Activa around 3 am from Perumanallur and were shouting along the way. It is reported that they went at high speeds when they got off the National Highway flyover and collided with a vehicle parked on the side of the road. It has been revealed that all four died due to severe head injuries.
