Coimbatore: People in Vadavalli, Kalveerampalayam area in Coimbatore, are suffering from drinking water problem and improperly maintained sewers.

Ward 16 in Vadavalli and Kalveerampalayam areas of Coimbatore said that the people of the area were suffering due to inadequate infrastructure facilities. Locals said there is a drinking water problem in the area and the sewers are not properly maintained.
They said that under the existing drinking water scheme of the corporation, drinking water is supplied only once in 15 daysand the authorities do not give a clear answer if a complaint is lodged in this regard. Most of the people did not like the Suez project and said that it was enough to provide them with drinking water according to the existing drinking water scheme.
They alleged that underground sewers that had not been closed for a long time have now been closed hurriedly ahead of the election. And in some places the ditches dug by the corporation for the Suez drinking water project have been left open and garbage bins are not being cleaned properly, and garbage is found everywhere on the road.
They said the roads were damaged and it was very difficult to use the road at night due to the lack of adequate street lights. Public toilets in other places, including the bus station, are in a very bad condition without doors and proper maintenance. They said that no action has been taken on that and they have repeatedly complained to the corporation about these issues and no action has been taken so far. Public said they are unsatisfied with the government due to this.
