Man who married government-aided school student booked under Child marriage act
The Nilgiris: The video of youth named Gowtham marrying a government-aided school student went viral on social media. Following this he was booked under Child marriage act.
A young man who was talking to a student at a government-aided school in Coonoor, Nilgiris, tied the knot to the girl, and its footage went viral on social media. Following several outrage Coonoor police investigated into the incident and it was revealed that Gowtham had sent this video to a relative. He said the incident had happened on Valentine's Day in 2020 and that the video had somehow been leaked on social. Gowtham told he sent the video to a relative of the girl to make her marry him. Gautam was thenarrested under the Child Marriage Act.
It is to be noted that Gowtham was arrested after the video of the incident was released after a year.
