Thondamuthur constituency: Election Commission announces acceptance of independent candidate Mansoor Ali Khan's nomination
Coimbatore:Election Commission has accepted the nomination of independent candidate of Thondamuthur constituency Mansoor Ali Khan's nomination. Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are scheduled to be held on April 6. Nomination filing for this election has been going on since March 12thand yesterdaywas the last day for filing nominations. At the same time, reviewing of nominations is being held todayin all the 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu in the presence of the respective constituency election officer. While reviewing, nominations which do not comply with the rules of the Election Commission will be rejected.
Mansoor Ali Khan, who is contesting as an independent from Thondamuthur constituency in Coimbatore, arrived at the Perur Tahsildar office todayafter the Election Officer announced that his nomination had been accepted. Earlier, DMK candidate Karthikeya Sivasenapathy had complained that the AIADMK candidate for the Thondamuthur constituency, Minister SP Velumani, should not be accepted. But the Election Commission has announced that Minister SP Velumani's nomination has been accepted.
