Congress candidate Mayura Jayakumar, who is contesting from Coimbatore South constituency on behalf of the Mathasarbatra Murpokku Kootani, started his election campaign after worshiping at the Lakshmi Narasimhar Temple near the Ukkadam bus stand.
Party volunteers attended the campaign meeting, including Congress party volunteers, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Viduthalai Siruthaigal.
Yesterday, he collected votes from the Islamic community by making various promises to ensure the safety of minorities in mosques in the Ukkadam area.
Today he met the people of the area in person and went door to door to collect votes.
He listened to people's grievances and promised to resolve their grievances as soon as possible. He said as he belonged to the southern constituency, he is well versed in the problems of the region and he has various welfare schemes planned for them. He then asked them to vote for him in the coming assembly elections and win.
