Coimbatore: Congress MLA candidate for Coimbatore South Mayura Jayakumar today met with the muslim community members after their prayers at various mosques in Coimbatore as a part of his campaign.

He then said that "Kamal Haasan and Vanathi Srinivasan from BJP cannot be accepted as tough opponents. There is this fake image because Kamal is a celebrity and Vanathi Srinivasan has a national post. This is just a media stunt for both and they don't belong here in Coimbatore South."

"After the elections we cannot expect Vanathi Srinivasan to bring her national level responsibility to an office in Coimbatore. Similarly, after the elections Kamal Haasan will go back to shooting movies as he is a person who said politics and profession are two different things. How will the common man question him if they have an issue?

Jewellery making is one among the major jobs which was undertaken by the people of Coimbatore. But without proper government support the art is now in an endangered position with many quitting from it. I will solve this once I come to power."

Raising the standards of educational institutions:

Ensuring Safety for Women:

Mayura Jayakumar then added that "If I come to power, I will ensure the safety of working women and women who go on night shifts by increasing the security with the tie-up between the corporation police officials and private companies to install more CCTV cameras.
