Special Sub-Inspector on duty fainted and died in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A special sub-inspector at the Coimbatore police station suddenly fainted while on duty yesterdayand died tragically. Subbaiah (59), a special sub-inspector at the Coimbatore Ukkadam Crime Branch Police Station, has been receiving treatment for leukemia for the past few days. He continued to work at the police station while taking pills for treatment.
While on duty last night he suddenly fainted and fell down. Those nearby took him to a hospital but the doctors who examined him said he died on the way. It is to be noted that he is 59 years old and is still in service on the basis of the additional age limit extension brought by the Tamil Nadu government. Top officials, including the City Police Commissioner, have expressed their condolences.
