Coimbatore: Ahead of the state assembly elections on April 6th, major political parties have started introductory meetings for candidates.
On behalf of the Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani alliance headed by DMK, Valparai Constituency was given to CPI member Arumugam.
CPI candidate Arumugam today morning visited the Anamalai Taluk Office to submit his nomination. After that he took part in the introductory meeting organised by DMK alliance members at a private wedding hall in Valparai today evening.
More than 200 members from the alliance parties including DMK, KMDK, VCK, CPI and CPIM took part in this introductory meeting.
Especially DMK Pollachi MP Shanmuga Sundaram who took part in the introductory meeting requested the attendees to help Arumugam win under the "Corn and Sickle" symbol.
On addressing the gathering, Arumugam stated that "I will strive to make Valparai a popular tourist destination and will ensure the salary hike for tea estate workers."
He then requested the people to vote for him under the "Ears of Corn and Sickle" symbol and requested them to make him win in the upcoming elections.
