BJP Officials said that the deposit amount paid to the election commission was collected from the public.
Tirupur: BJP State President L Murugan today filed his nomination for contesting in the upcoming elections at Dharapuram Constituency in Tirupur District. L Murugan submitted his petition with Dharapuram Sub Collector Pavan Kumar GG.
AIADMK Madathukulam MLA Mahendran and Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan were present during the nomination filing.
Earlier, BJP State President L Murugan participated in an open jeep procession from BJP office near Dharapuram Bus Stand till the Sub Collector's Office. Around 1000 members from BJP, AIADMK and public took part in this meeting.
After the nomination, the deposit amount of Rs 5,000 was paid. In the 5,000 rupees, around 4,000 rupees were in 10s and 20s currency. The remaining 1000 rupees was given in 5 and 2 rupees coins.

Later, BJP State President L Murugan met with the press and stated that their win is already confirmed and said that the election is taking place just to show the difference in votes.
He then said that the BJP party will focus on Dharapuram's development and growth.
