Police arrest 2 people for carrying air guns, search underway for 2 more
Coimbatore: Two people were arrested by police for carrying air guns and a search is underway to catch 2 more suspects. In Coimbatore, the police tried to arrest 4 people who were going around with air guns, but 2 men escaped.
Karumathampatti police, during their patrol on Avinashi Road around midnightof March 16spotted four men standing near the State Transport Corporation depot. Upon suspicion when police approached them, three fled and one person was caught by the police.
On investigation, it was revealed that he had an air gun. The police have arrested another man in connection with the incident. The accused were identified as Ramesh Kumar, 23, of Unchapalaiyam and Ajith Kumar, 24, of Virudhunagar district, both of whom were working at the mill in Palladam. There were cases against both of them.
The Karumathampatti police have nabbed them and are investigating to catch the 2 persons who escaped.
