Mayura Jayakumar is contesting in Coimbatore South Constituency on behalf of Congress under the Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani alliance of parties headed by the DMK party.
Coimbatore: Mayura Jayakumar the Congress State working President filed his nomination for contesting in the Coimbatore South constituency. He peddled in a cycle to file his nominations.
Addressing the press after filing his nominations he said, “Kamal Haasan will go back to acting in films after elections" when asked about the silver screen star contesting in Coimbatore South.
Mayura Jayakumar is contesting in Coimbatore South Constituency on behalf of Congress under the Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani alliance of parties headed by the DMK party.

He added that "I arrived on a bicycle to file my nomination as a way of protest against Central Government for the historic price hike of LPG, petrol and diesel.
I am contesting in Coimbatore South Constituency in the Hand symbol of Congress, under the Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani alliance headed by DMK.
We will take the anti people policies of the central government to the people during our election campaigns. I was born and raised in this constituency and I know the issues faced by the people of my constituency. I will work towards developing my constituency and helping the people of my constituency."

Mayura Jayakumar then stated that "Post elections Kamal Haasan will go back to Chennai to look after his acting and his movies, BJP's Vanathi Srinivasan will not be in Coimbatore to look after the people as she is the National Secretary of BJP's Women's Wing. Only I will stay in my native land and will solve all the problems, so I kindly request you to vote for me."
Congress will will all 25 constituencies
He then said that "I have been to prison for fighting against the humanity crushing activities by the government. I will assure to solve all problems like drinking water supply, immediate town building and development.
DMK alliance is very strong, We agreed to the 25 constituencies as there are more alliance parties when compared to the previous elections. We will definitely win even though the allocated constituencies are low."
