Election Commission Officials in Kerala are conducting vehicle checks near the Malungaparai area in Chalakudy area on vehicles entering Tamilnadu.
Flying Squadron Officials are also involved in checks near Valparai.
Further measures have been taken near the Sholayar Dam by police SI Velmurugan to prevent Covid-19 clusters and spread at the state borders.
Meanwhile, police officials under SI Velmurugan inspected a vehicle that arrived in Valparai from Thiruvananthapuram. Upon conducting searches, officials found rupees 5,40,000 rupees hidden in the car.
The seized cash was handed over to the Election Commission Officials who on further investigation found that the cash belonged to a jeweller named Abdul Kadhar who didn't have the necessary documents for the cash. Post this the 5,40,000 rupees cash was seized in Valparai today.
Valparai Police Inspector Maheshwari and other officers were present.
