Special rules have been imposed on lodges and hotels as a part of the state assembly elections restrictions.
Coimbatore: Election Commission Officials in Coimbatore have imposed more rules for hotel and lodges in and around Coimbatore City as a part of the state assembly elections.
As a part of the new regulations, lodge and hotel owners are ordered to check the details of the guests. They are also ordered to see if the same member has visited multiple times and are also asked to check the rooms booked under party names.
Coimbatore Election Commission has also orderedthe owner's " to submit information about long term bookings, not to involve or help in distributing money, frequent checkings of rooms etc."
It is said that certain hotels were booked before the announcement of the election dates.
Election Commission has also ordered the hotel people not to permit accomodation for outsiders into the city. They have also asked the owners to be out of any activities which can cause disruption in politics.
