Leopard enters populated area in Valparai and kills goat
Coimbatore: A goat was killed by a leopard that entered the main town area in Valparai. Rajendran is a resident of Gaggan Colony which is located in the heart of Valparai town in Coimbatore district. He raises goats at home and a leopard that entered the area this morning, killed a goat near the house and drank its blood. Rajendran got up hearing the goats scream saw the leopard biting the goat.
The leopard heard Rajendran coming and fled. The injured goat was taken to Valparai Veterinary Hospital and is undergoing intensive treatment. Forest officer led by Forest officer Muniyandi visited the spot and sent the goat's body for autopsy. Forest officers are constantly on patrol in the area.
