Tamilnadu Election Commission has ordered the candidates contesting in the state elections to submit income tax details for the last 5 years.
Nominations for the state assembly elections were given across Tamilnadu yesterday. Candidates who went to collect the forms were shocked by the questions asked in the forms.
The forms asked candidate details like phone number, email address, social media account details, incomes tax details for the last 5 years, details of properties, owned vehicles, land, building, boats, ships, aeroplane. These detailed questions also about the date these properties were brought.
Nomination forms also questioned about the property which is brought abroad.Indian Election Commission has also issued a 30 page schedule on who cannot contest in the elections.
Election Department Officials stated that " Separate teams have been allocated to review nominations, permission for campaign vehicles and to file expense reports. People who are above the age of 80 and physically challenged people have been given permission to vote via postal ballot. Officers are going to the voters house to get the 12D forms filled."
