Election nominations filing begins in Coimbatore and other districts kick started today.
Coimbatore: Nominations to contest in the assembly elections were opened in Coimbatore from today. With the state assembly elections to happen in Tamilnadu on April 6th, nominations were accepted by the Election Commission from 11am today.
Only 2 members will be able to get inside the election officials office along with the candidate due to Covid-19 restrictions. And all vehicles were asked to be parked 100 metres before the Election Office in the respective constituency.
Apart from this, a help center with 2 officials are posted at the election centers to help the candidate while filing the nominations. Temperature of the candidates and bystanders will be monitored by an automated thermal camera.
Nomination from Hindu Makkal Katchi Candidates:
On behalf of the Hindu Makkal Katchi, a nomination was filed in the Sulur Constituency. Hindu Makkal Katchi Candidate Karthikeyan filed his nomination with Sulur Constituency Election Official Shanthi.
Another nomination was filed on behalf of Hindu Makkal Katchi in Coimbatore North Constituency.
Mandirachalam who belongs to the Hindu Makkal Katchi filed his nomination with Coimbatore North Constituency Election Official Murugesan.
