Tirupur: Election Commission Officials have deployed members of the Flying Squadron across Tirupur District to seize the illegal transaction of cash and gift items. This has been carried on ahead of the State Assembly Elections in TamilNadu.
Meanwhile, during a vehicle search by the Flying Squadron Officials near the Tirupur-Avinashi road, the members stopped an eicher truck for conducting checks.
During the checks, officials found Rs 2,40 lakhs worth of rice bags weighing about 25,10,15 kilos. It was later revealed that the rice was packed in 445 bags and the remaining 252 bags of rice were being brought back post the sales.

It was revealed that the rice bags were being transported without proper documentation or permission. Post this the Flying Squadron Officials seized 252 rice bags along with the truck and sent them to Tirupur North Tahsildar's Office.
During investigation it was revealed that the rice has been brought to be sold from the Vijayakumar rice factory located on Tirupur - Dharapuram road.
