Coimbatore: An "Awareness Campaign to gain 100% voters" was organised by the Election Commission in Coimbatore at the District Collector Office today on 11.03.2021.

District Collector and Election Officer Rajamani took part in the event and inaugurated a signing initiative. He then inaugurated a hot air balloon with attractive quotes to gain 100% voters.

District Revenue Officer Ramadurai Murugan, Tamilnadu Consumer Union Zonal Manager Prassanna Ramasamy, Palanisamy, Sub Registrar of Cooperative Union and many others took part in the event.

District Collector Rajamani then addressed the gathering and said that " Works are undertaken in full swing to conduct the assembly elections in Coimbatore. EVM machines, maintenance machines have been sent to the 10 assembly constituencies in Coimbatore under the supervision of the respective Election Officer's.
Around 22,000 members are involved in the upcoming election works in Coimbatore. A special seminar and training classes are to be conducted for the all the staff in two stages. The 1st schedule is to take place on 14th March and the 2nd stage is scheduled to happen on 26th March.
Further General Spectators are expected to visit Coimbatore and to calculate expenses during elections. And under the orders of the Election Commission, all basic and necessary amenities have been arranged at every election booth and center.
To help the aged voters and physically challenged voters visiting the polling station directly, Volunteers have set-up ramps along with 1100 wheel chairs.
Voters are required to wear face masks, gloves will be given by the Election Commission.
Election Commission in Coimbatore have undertaken several awareness rallies and campaigns along with government and volunteers to gain 100% voters across all constituencies in Coimbatore.
To seize the distribution of gifts and cash to voters by candidates, special teams have been set across constituencies who will be monitoring each constituency in rotation.
So far we have seized 43 rupees in cash. Discussion has also been made with bank, co-operative society to monitor bulk transactions during the election campaign." He said.
