Coimbatore: Public protest with empty pots demanding proper supply of drinking water. Residents of Subramaniam Palayam, Ganga street, Yamuna Kaveri colony in Kavundampalayam area were provided drinking water only once in eight days and for less than two hours. More than 50 people protested with empty pots in front of the Thudiyalur North Regional Office demanding immediate action. The protesters have repeatedly accused government officials of failing to provide them with the drinking water they need.
The protesters then lodged their grievances with the Thudiyalur Drinking Water Supply Officer. They dispersed following assurances from the officer that appropriate action would be taken immediately.
