Tirupur: Farmer arrested for cultivating ganja plant in maize field near Palladam and 4 kg of ganja seized. Kamanaickenpalayam police received a tip-off that ganja was being produced on agricultural lands in the Kattur area next to Palladam in Tirupur district. When the police raided the area, Govindaraj, a farmer, tried to escape when he saw the police.
The police chased and caught him. Upon interrogation it was revealed that he had grown ganja in his maize field. Following this, the police destroyed the ganja plants planted in the maize field and also seized 4 kg of ganja which was kept for sale. Police registered a case and arrested farmer Govindaraj in connection with the incident.
