Coimbatore: Various activistsand movements protest in front of Taluk office to take action against mineral theft in Thadagam. The protest was jointly organized by the Tamil Nadu Farmers 'Association, the Thadagam Valley Mineral Resource Conservation Committee, the Samooga Neethi Panchami Land Reclamation Movement, the Kaushika River Farmers' Association and the Coimbatore District Ilaignar Samooga Munnetra Sangam
Protests took place in the Thadagam area condemning the plundering of minerals and stressing various other demands, including the disposal of brick factories that are operating illegally. In Thadagam 52,000 units of red sand are being looted illegally per day and the department should take appropriate action against the authorities for not taking appropriate action.


They also demanded departmental action against the power sector officials who supplied three-phase power from 65 KAV to 330KAV to brick factories operating illegally without obtaining any permission from the government departments.
