BJP which is having alliance with ADMK is also showing interest to contest in the Singanallur constituency.
Coimbatore: Party insiders have said that two candidates have almost decided by the respective two party headquarters. The Singanallur Constituency is considered to be one of the most important among the 10 constituencies in Coimbatore district.
AIADMK sources said, “In spite of many showing interest to contest, KR Jayaram who was the past East Zone Chairman has got more chances and the party head office has almost confirmed it.
We are expecting the official announcement anytime soon. BJP which is having alliance with ADMK is also showing interest on Singanallur constituency and this is the reason for the delay in announcement.”
If the constituency is allocated for BJP by any chance, then Singanallur constituency in-charge of the BJP, Meenakshi Arvind is the front runner to contest in this important constituency.
While there is much speculation on AIADMK front, DMK sources said, “In spite of the two different teams witnessed in Coimbatore, recently all of them have jointly decided to keep the misunderstandings aside and jointly work to DMK win and to make Stalin as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Sitting MLA, Na Karthik has got more chances to be announced for Singanallur constituency.
MLA Na Karthik is the all important ‘Maavatta Seyalaalar’ of Coimbatore District and he was the only one who won during the past election in Coimbatore and this time also he has got the upper hand. Election Office establishment works are started by N Karthik at various paces inside the constituency which clearly say it all that he has been declared as the candidate. With party chief MK Stalin praising Na Karthik on stage, it’s all but confirmed that Na Karthik will defend his territory against AIADMK / BJP alliance"
