Petition to appoint additional traffic police to avoid traffic congestion in Pollachi

Coimbatore: Petition to appoint additional traffic police to avoid traffic congestion in Pollachi. Pollachi - Udumalai National Highway is being widened. Tarred roads are being constructed at the Udumalai junction in Coimbatore for this purpose. There are a lot of businesses and clothing stores in the area and the public who come there park their vehicles on the road and leave them there which has led to a series of incidents of traffic jams and not being able to move the vehicles.

Even emergency vehicles such as ambulances are unable to pass due to traffic congestion. Community activists have demanded that additional traffic police be deployed in the area until the road works are completed and that action be taken to control traffic congestion.
