Coimbatore: Officers sealed off room at private college where electronic voting machines for Pollachi and Valparai constituencies were kept.
Pollachi NGM College has been selected to store the electronic voting machines for Pollachi, Valparai constituency. Electronic voting machines were brought from Coimbatore to the Pollachi Reserve Center at midnightthe day before yesterday.
In the presence of Election Officer Vaidyanathan and political party agents, the electronic voting machines for the Pollachi constituency were sealed and kept at the storage room. The room was sealed in the presence of Valparai Election Officer Duraisamy and political party agents.
Election officials said, "382 electronic recording machines and 423 registration verification machines have been allotted for 318 polling booths in Pollachi constituency. In the first phase, 382 control units and 220 ballot units have arrived in Pollachi constituency. Similarly, in Valparai constituency, 352 voting machines and 392 voting verification machines required for 294 polling booths have been allotted. In Valparai constituency, 353 control units and 185 ballot units have been deployed. The remaining machines and voting verification machines will be brought in soon."
