Pollachi area gang leader and burglar arrested; several lakhs worth cash and jewellery confiscated
Pollachi: A notorious gang leader has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Pollachi area. Rs. 4 lakh gold and diamond jewelery were confiscated.
Sajad (age 61) is a notorious gang leader from Kerala. He has been looting in an innovative way. Following this, he has been hiding from the eyes of the police. He was wanted at the Pollachi taluka police station in Coimbatore district on charges of burglary and various thefts.
In this situation, IG Dhinakaran, Western Region and Narendra Nair, Deputy Chairman, Goods, directed the District S.P. A team comprising Deputy Commissioner Sivakumar, Inspector Sivakumar, Sub-Inspector Rajendra Prasad and police personnel were deployed to search for the culprit.
Yesterday, the accused Sujatha was detained by the private police in the Tuvakkudi tollgate area in Trichy. According to his confession during the interrogation, 17.5 sovereign gold and diamond jewelery, ₹2,05,000 in cash and other assets worth 4 lakh were confiscated from him. There are various robbery and theft cases against him in the state of Kerala. Following this, Pollachi Criminal Justice Arbitrator No. 2 was produced and remanded in custody today.
