Coimbatore: Deputy Commissioner Stalin congratulates Coimbatore College students win bronze medal in Wushu Championship.
The 28th All India Wushu Championship was held in Chandigarh last month. It was attended by Wushu players and athletes from various states of India. Poorani and Ahalya, a college student from Coimbatore, represented Tamil Nadu. Both the students took third place and won a bronze medal in the senior category at the national level wushu competition held in Chandigarh.
Ganesan, President of the Coimbatore District Wushu Association, and Johnson, Secretary General of the State, greeted the two students. Students Poorani and Ahalya then greeted Stalin, the Deputy Commissioner of Law and Order, Coimbatore Municipal Police. The students said that in the present times wushu is not only a sport but also a martial art for women.
