2 lakh confiscated from a coconut trader near Meenatchipuram without proper documents - Election Flying Squad officers take action
Coimbatore: Election Flying Squad officers took action and confiscated 2 lakh from a coconut trader near Meenatchipuram as he had no proper documents.
As Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are announced the election procedures have come into effect. Flying squad is actively monitoring and testing vehicles for violation of election rules. In this, the pilots were actively involved in vehicle inspection on the main roads passing through the town and surrounding villages in the Pollachi and Valparai assembly constituencies. A team of 5 people including the Revenue Officer, police and video cameraman on election duty are engaged in a vehicle inspection.
The Valparai Assembly constituency election division flying squad surveillance team was engaged in a vehicle inspection yesterdayat the Meenatchipuram railway gate area under the Anaimalai police boundary. Then they stopped and inspected the bike of Ramu from Periyapothu who came that way. They found Rs 2 lakh with him and had no proper documents.

When he was questioned, he said he was a coconut trader. However, as there was no proper document for the money he had, the Election Division Monitoring Committee confiscated it and handed it over to Duraisamy, the Election officer of the Valparai Assembly constituency, which is functioning at the Anaimalai taluk office.
