Life sentence for youth who impregnated a minor girl: Coimbatore POCSO court verdict
Coimbatore: Coimbatore POCSO court orders life sentence and Rs. 5000 fine for youth who impregnated a minor girl. Vijayakumar (29), a resident of Madhayan Layout, Nadar colony in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district was married and had a child. He sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl.
The victim lodged a complaint at the All Women Police Station, Thudiyalur in 2015. The case was registered under the Prevention of Sexual Offenses Against Children (POCSO Act) and was being heard in a special court in Coimbatore. Following the conclusion of the trial, the POCSO Special Court today sentenced Vijayakumar to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000.
