Election Commission Officials seize unaccounted cash brought inside Nilgiris district

Election Commission officials in Kotagiri,The Nilgiris seized around 2,14,000 rupees todaywhich were kept to give away as gifts in two places.


The Nilgiris: Election Commission officials in Kotagiri,The Nilgiris seized around 2,14,000 rupees todaywhich were kept to give away as gifts in two places.

Election Commission officials across Tamilnadu are working in complete force against cash and gifts given to the public illegally by political parties.



Officials have set-up flying squads who are checking day and night in all districts to control such illegal activities.

Meanwhile, Election Commission Officials during their vehicle checks seized rupees (70,000) from a man near Kunjapanai in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris. The flying squad officials also seized around 1,46,000 rupees cash which was unaccounted.

After the incident officials are now investigating the source of these illegal cash and where it was being taken.
