Volunteers cycle over 1950 kms in 21 daysas a part of raising funds for Isha Vidhya Schools

Two volunteers Iyyapan and Bali from Chennai are involved in raising funds for the village students at the Isha Vidhya Schools.


Coimbatore: Two volunteers Iyyapan and Bali from Chennai are involved in raising funds for the village students at the Isha Vidhya Schools.

As an initiative to raise funds for the village students at Isha Vidhya School, Volunteers Iyyapan and Bali have travelled across Tamilnadu for 21 days on their cycle.

Volunteers who began their journey from Chennai on December 24thcrossed Thiruthani, Vaniyambadi, Dharmapuri, Karur, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Kumbakonam, Aranthangi, Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin, Thiruchendur, Kovilpatti, Madurai, Oddanchatram and Pollachi. The volunteers will be reaching Coimbatore on January 12thfor their final destination.



During this journey on cycle, volunteers Iyyapan and Bali visited 10 Isha Vidhya Schools where they received a grand welcome by the teachers. Volunteers Iyyapan and Bali planned their innovative fundraising initiative on cycles to bring awareness via social media. The volunteers are raising funds with the help of their families and friends.

To honour the noble initiative of Iyyapan and Bali, Isha foundation organiser Sadhguru congratulated them via Twitter.

In his tweet he said "congratulations Iyyapan and Bali, it takes an extraordinary sense of commitment and responsibility to commit to physical hardship for what you value. You have demonstrated what Passion, Compassion and Action can achieve. With this effort, you are making many lives. Blessings."

Volunteers Iyyapan and Bali embarked on this journey on cycles for raising funds which will help the Isha Vidhya Schools in the education of students from remote villages.

It is said that Isha Vidhya Schools have over 8000 students, and over 60% of them are getting free education with the help of sponsorships.
