Corporation Commissioner inspected if public followed COVID-19 precaution guidelines in shops near Gandhipuram
Coimbatore: The Corporation Commissioner todayinspected whether the public are wearing face masks and following the social distancing in the nearby shops at the Gandhipuram Central Bus Stand in Coimbatore.
Shops where the public did not wear face masks and did not follow social distancing was closed and fined Rs. 1000.

In addition, a private bus driver who did not wear a face mask was fined Rs 200 and the driver was fined Rs 200.

In addition, 10 members of the public who did not wear a face mask were fined Rs. 100 each. Following this, the Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer asked everyone to wear face masks and follow social distancing.
Central Zone Assistant Commissioner Maheshkanakaraj, Assistant Engineer Karuppusamy, Zonal Health Officers Radhakrishnan and Health Inspectors were present during the inspection.
