An area which was initially approved by the corporation to be used for making a public park for kids and residents is now being changed to a venue for treating sewage water.
Coimbatore: Residents of Sai Nagar, Sathya Narayanan Nagar and Fathima Nagar were involved in a protest todayas the city corporation was planning to build a sewage water treatment plant in the 65 cent reserved area which is located in the middle of the residential area.

Local residentswho had already two such proceedings made by the corporation workers today recieved a news that the corporation officials are coming to have an inspection the process of building a new sewage water treatment plant.
Over 100residents participated in a protest asking the officials to withdraw the plan of building a sewage water treatment plant in the middle of the residential area.
Podanur Inspector Murugan along with wo other police officials arrived at the scene and tried convincing the public who were protesting against the sewage water treatment plant.
The residents said that they will disperse only after the Corporation Commissioner comes in person to assure them that the sewage water treatment plant will not built there.
