In this situation, he directed a film titled 'Supi and Sujata' with famous actor Jayasuriya as the protagonist. It was at that time that the curfew came into effect. Shahnawaz was busy writing the story for his next film and for that he stayed in Attappadi near Anaikatti. Then he had a sudden heart attack last Saturday night. He was rushed to a private hospital in Coimbatore. There he was given intensive treatment. But doctors said he suffered a brain hemorrhage this morning and been declared brain dead.
