Finance institute owner arrested for defrauding a woman from Mumbai. He cheated by promising a payment of daily interest.
Coimbatore: A private financial institution owner has been arrested for cheating a woman of Rs. 6.72 lakhs. The man promised a daily payment of the interest and cheated this woman from Mumbai.
Monica Abey Jain (35) from Mumbai, Maharashtra filed a complaint at the Saibaba colony police station on the private finance company owner.
In her petition Monica said that she received a call from Sathish Kumar (40) and his wife Gunavathy (35) who said that they were a part of Dream Makers Global company in KK pudur, Saibaba colony, Coimbatore.
She also said that the husband and wife promised her that they were a financial institution who paid 1.5 % interest if Monica invested in their company. Monica who believed in this invested around Rs. 6.72 lakhs on the firm.
Post the investment Monica said that she did not get interest nor the principal amount returned. Thus she lodged a complaint with the Saibaba Colony police station who arrested Sathish Kumar. His wife has gone into hiding. The police are now in search of his wife and are also looking into how many people the husband wife duo has cheated so far.
