Trucks and pick-up trucks to strike indefinitely in Nilgiris from December 27th
The Nilgiris: About 6,000 trucks, including lorries, are expected to attend the strike which will be supported by the State Lorry Owners and South Indian Motor Transport Welfare Association.
Truck and pickup drivers have announced that they will go on an indefinite strike from 27-12-2020, emphasizing various demands including the coronavirus term quarterly tax should be abolished, VAT on diesel should be reduced and online fines should be waived.

Demands will be made across Tamil Nadu, including the cancellation of a verbal order to buy speed limiters and stickers only from certain companies. The Lorry Owners' Association has announced that 6 trucks operating in the Nilgiris will take part in the indefinite strike.
The meeting was attended by District Lorry Owners Association President Nataraj, Coonoor Lorry Owners Association President Easwaran, Secretary Ganesa Murthy, Market Association executives and many others.
