Coimbatore: More than 200 women protest on behalf of DMK women's wing in Pollachi condemning the increase in gas prices. The central government has raised Rs 100 per cooking gas cylinder. This has caused outrage among poor and middle class women.
Protests are taking place in various places on behalf of the DMK women's wing condemning the increase in gas prices.

As a part of this, a protest was held on behalf of the Coimbatore South District Women's Wing at the Pollachi Thiruvalluvar Stadium under the leadership of District Women's Wing Organizer Shanti Devi Dharmarajan.
To depict that gas cylinders could no longer be used the women wore garlands to the cylinder and cooked in mud stoves and raised slogans condemning the central government. More than 200 DMK women participated in the protest. Protestors said the central government had raised the price of a cylinder, even during the COVID-19 period, without considering the poverty level of the people.
