As a part of the grievance day, members of the All India Women's Union, Coimbatore division petitioned at the collectorate office to grant free houses to families who belong in poorer sections.
Coimbatore: As a part of the Public Grievance Day at the Coimbatore District Collectorate, people from across the cities visited the collectorate today to give petitions to the District Collector.
The District Collector Rajamani met the public today and got their petitions and assigned respected department officials to take immediate actions regarding the complaints.
As a part of the grievance day, members of the All India Women's Union petitioned at the collectorate office to grant free houses to the families who come under the poorer economy section.
Over 300 women of the Coimbatore Division of the All India Women's Union carried banners requesting allocation of free houses to the poor families living in Coimbatore under the government Slum Clearance projects.
In the petition by the All India Women's Union it is said that over 300 families across the city belong to the poorer section of the society. Certain houses have 10 members living under the same roof. It is also said that some of these families live in the same rented house for more than 3 generations.
The All India Women's Union requested the District Collector to allocate free houses for these families under the Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board. District Collector Rajamani received the petition and assured that an investigation will be done regarding this.
