Rs. 4.5 lakh defrauded by promising to secure government job: Police investigates
Coimbatore: POlice investigates the case where Rs. 4.5 lakh was defrauded by promising to secure government jobs. Ajith Raja (35), a resident of LIC Colony, Selvapuram, Coimbatore, runs a business. He had gone to Tirupati in 2017. Manikandan (31), a resident of Anna Street, Sankaramanallur, Tirupur, had come there to offer his prayers too. Then they got acquainted and Manikandan told Ajit Raja that he worked as an officer in the Income Tax Department. Manikandan told that he knew several government officers and got government jobs for some people with the influence.
Following this, Ajith Raja gave Rs. 4.5 lakh from Manikandan in several stages saying that he wanted a government job. But he neither got a government job nor his money and Manikandaan did not refund when Ajith Raja asked for his money back. Has been constantly intimidating him and at one point, Manikandan switched off his cell phone. Ajith Raja lodged a complaint with the Selvapuram police yesterday. Police have registered a case of fraud and are investigating.
