The group has also requested the forest officials to grant them an opportunity to clean up the forest area.
Coimbatore: Volunteers who are involved in doing social service, initiated a cleaning activity in Anaikatti and surrounding areas. In this drive, the volunteers removed and cleaned around 1 ton glass bottles in the area.
The clean-up took place at the Thadagam Thaneerpandal junction in Anaikatti till Mangarai area. Volunteers who participated in this clean-up, cleaned bottles and other plastic wastes on the road.
Tamilnadu forestry and animal society president Arun Kumar, Shobana from Nature and Animals environment organizations and Ramkumar, Rams Kovai Virundhu took part in this event and collected a waste of nearly 1 ton and was dropped at the panchayat waste collection centre.
Arun Kumar later said that they have also requested the forest officials to grant them an opportunity to clean up the forest area near Anaikatti.
