Coimbatore: A 27 year old divorced woman was living with her parents in Kuniyamuthur, Coimbatore. Parents who decided to find their daughter a right match enrolled her in matrimonial sites.
While a lot of matches arrived, the profile of a 30 year old man who posed to be a business man made contact often. He repeatedly contacted the girl saying that he liked her and wanted to marry her.
The man promised to take good care of her after their marriage. The girl who was impressed by this exchanged numbers with the man in thoughts of having a great life in her second chance.
The man who agreed on getting remarried convinced the girl to bring her jewels and said that he was taking the jewels to perform certain pooja's and that these poojas will help them have a great marriage.
The man then came to Coimbatore to collect the jewels and was not able to be contacted after that incident. He was also avoiding her phone calls.
The girl decided to go meet the guy as he said he was from Villupuram to which the guy said no and that he was infected with Covid-19
The girl who became suspicious about this incident filed a complaint at the Kuniyamuthur police station
Inspector Suleka conducted investigation on this case and found that the man involved in the scam was Muhammad Ragmathullah (30) who was from Villupuram.
The Police then arrested Ragmathullah who was also involved in many other cases. The police also found that Ragamathullah was involved in another scam in Salem, where he cheated around 8 sovereign chains.
