Coimbatore: There was heavy traffic congestion on Goodshed Road in Coimbatore as the repair works to close a 3 feet pit that appeared all of a sudden was taking time.
People in the area said that the work of repairing the pit in the area was going on in a slow pace.

Due to this, people going to areas like Nanjappa Road, Avinashi Road, Brook Bond Road via Goodshed could not go through the service road under the flyover and was forced to use only the upper part of the flyover.
This caused traffic congestion on the Avinashi flyover. Corporation officials said, "The sewer runs through the roads near the Avinashi flyover. In this, a 600 mm old pavement pipe broke and a pit was formed. Steps are being taken to remove this and install a new pipe at a distance of 40 meters.
