Electronic voting machines brought from Maharashtra to Coimbatore: Officials informed
Coimbatore: Officials informed that electronic voting machines have been brought from Maharashtra to Coimbatore. Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled for next year. According to district election officials, electronic voting machines will be brought to Coimbatore from Maharashtra.
The Election Commission of India is making preparations for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Additional electronic voting machines are required due to the measures taken due to coronavirus infection. Following this, additional electronic voting machines are being brought to Coimbatore from the state of Maharashtra.
According to district election officials, "1000 electronic voting machines have been securely kept in the office of the district deputy director of health at Race Course, Coimbatore. These voting machines are brought from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. From there a total of 6,940 ballot machines, 5,670 control machines, and 6,330 VV Bat (please check) are brought in. All of these electronic voting machines will be kept safely in the office of the District Assistant Superintendent of Health."
Engineers from Bhel will be called in to test these electronic voting machines. They said that machines that do not function properly will be kept separately during the test.
