Minister SP Velumani today inaugurated 18 segregation vehicles which are used for seperating bio degradable and non degradable waste.
Coimbatore: Under the solid waste management schemes, Coimbatore corporation's south zone, recently bought 18 new waste segregation vehicles which helps in seperating bio degradable wastes and non bio degradable wastes.
Also under the smart City scheme, 13 collection vehicles for bio degradable wastes at a cost of ₹92.95 lakhs were bought by the south zone officials of the Coimbatore Corporation.
Under the Clean India initiative 5 non bio degradable collection vehicles were bought under the budget of ₹92.95 lakhs.
These waste collection vehicles are bought to be used at the Coimbatore South Zone office in Kuniyamuthur.Minister SP Velumani inaugurated the event of the vans being used to clear the waste on the roadsides. The minister also inaugurated heavy duty vehicles which are involved in the period of waste collection.
District Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian, Assistant Commissioner Madhuranthagi and South Zone Assistant Commissioner Ravi were present in this event.
