E-commerce services by Cooperative Tea Factory launched today
The Nilgiris: E-commerce services by Cooperative Tea Factory was launched today in Coonoor. The e-commerce internet service was launched on Thursday at Indcoserve, a state-owned company operating in Coonoor. Indcoserv (Cooperative Tea Factory), the largest tea cooperative in India, has been operating in the Nilgiris district alone for about 30,000 small tea farmers for the past 55 years.
Out of Indcoserv's 16 co-operative tea factories, work has been carried out to modernize 5 factories in the first phase. Balaji, the Executive Director of the Tea Board, launched an e-commerce website to provide information on the types of tea powder.

District Collector Innocent Divya, Indcoserve Chief Executive Officer Supriya Sahu and District Superintendent of Police Sasimohan were the special guests at the event. Indcoserv exports 13 million tea a year in the Nilgiris district alone. He also said that all types of tea are available in the tea stalls set up on behalf of the government and that emphasis is being placed on marketing and plans are on to certify Nilgiri tea as unique.

During the event, Indcoserv presented 25 barricades to the police to prevent road accidents.
