Coimbatore: Woman arrested for hitting a 3-year-old child with a club near Coimbatore.
Suresh Kumar (age 32), is a resident of Pudur, next to Sulur in Coimbatore district. He is working as an employee in a private company in the same area. His 3-year-old child was playing inside the home compound of Poongavanam (43) yesterday. Poongavanam had allegedly told the child to go out and play. But the child was adamant and kept playing there.
Enraged by this Poongavanam picked a club and attacked the child. Baby cried uncontrollably in pain. Hearing this the father Sureshkumar rushed to the child and inquired. Child had said that the woman next door was hit him with a club. When he and the neighbours went and asked her about this, she refused to respond appropriately.
Following this, the child's father Suresh Kumar lodged a complaint with the Sulur police. Police investigated the complaint and arrested Poongavanam. The arrest of a woman who attacked a 3-year-old child with a club has caused a stir in the area.
