When asked about this indefinite strike which has reached the second day now, Coimbatore Foundry EntrepreneursAssociation head Siva shanmuga kumar said that the foundry based industry has been heavily affected due to the hike in price of the raw materials. The hike in price has now led to insufficiency in raw materials.
Almost 400 foundries in Coimbatore have participated in this indefinite strike which is said to cause about 30 crore production per day. As the protest has reached the second day almost 60 crore worth production has been affected."
The strike which has begun since yesterday is saud to last indefinitely until the government lidten to their plea.
