1200 kg of banned plastic items seized and fined in Pollachi

Coimbatore: Officials have seized 1200 kg of plastic items banned by the Tamil Nadu government in the Pollachi municipal area and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000.


Coimbatore: Officials have seized 1200 kg of plastic items banned by the Tamil Nadu government in the Pollachi municipal area and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000.

The use of plastic material banned by the Tamil Nadu government has again increased in Pollachi municipal areas. As a result, Dr. Ramkumar Nagar Health Officer and Sanitary Inspectors conducted a surprise inspection at more than 40 plastic shops in the areas of Kadaiveethi, Gandhi Mandapam, Kottur Road and Chattram Road under Pollachi Municipality.

At the time, it was revealed that banned plastic products were being used in stores. Following this, the city health officer confiscated 1200 kg of banned polythene items and imposed a fine of 25 thousand rupees.

In addition, the city health officer Dr. Ramkumar said that the plastic elimination operation will continue in the areas under the Pollachi municipality.
