Monthly Passengers footfall nearly touched 1 lakh at Kovai Airport during November: Cancellation of flights also still continue


Coimbatore: Passengers footfall continue to increase steadily as 95,703 passengers have used the services during November. But on the other side cancellation of flights also continue to be witnessed at Coimbatore international airport.

Post 'Covid-19' outbreak both the flight movements and passengers footfall continues to increase steadily at Coimbatore airport. During May only 4,511 passengers used the airport which then started to increase steadily. During November 95,703 passengers footfall been registered. This information has been shared by AAI in its office Twitter account. While the steady increase has been welcomed by people of all sectors. But still the more cancellation of flights witnessed which had created fear among the passengers who regularly use Coimbatore airport.

Kongu Global Forum (KGF) Director, D.Nanda Kumar said, "We know that cancellation of flights has been witnessed regularly but there is nothing to worry. At present only business traveller's are using the airport more and once general passengers also start using the flight services then the situation will turn normal. We sincerely appreciate efforts taken by various airlines in adding new services."

Aviation Sources said, "There are some cancellations witnessed, but when compared with previous months, at present the cancellation of services has largely reduced."
