Coimbatore: Life imprisonment and fine for man who killed friend in an inebriated state in Nilgiris. Assistant Magistrate Arunachalam sentenced man to life imprisonment and fine of Rs. 1000 for killing a friend under the influence of alcohol in 2015 in the Keelkotagiri in Nilgiris district.
Unni Krishnan was stabbed to death by Samy during a drunken brawl between Samy and Unnikrishnan in 2015 in Kilipi near Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district. Kotagiri police registered a case and arrested Samy in connection with the incident.
The case was heard in the Ooty Women's Court. The case was heard by Ooty Women's Court Judge Arunachalam today. Samy was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs. 1000. After the verdict, the accused Samy was taken by the police to the Coimbatore Central Jail.
