Number of COVID--19 infections decreases in Coimbatore: Dean Kalidas



Coimbatore: Dean Kalidas of Coimbatore Medical Collegehospital (GH) said that the number of COVID-19 infections has decreased considerably in Coimbatore. The number of patients coming to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment has decreased.

Patients are being treated at both Coimbatore Government Hospital and ESI Hospital. Coimbatore Government Hospital has 555 beds for this purpose. Currently the infection has decreased and 80% of the beds in the hospital are free.

Of the 400 samples taken in the corporation area, only four are confirmed to be positive. Coimbatore Government Hospital Dean Kalidas says, "The number of patients coming to Coimbatore Government Hospital continues to decline and only 12 to 15 are admitted every day. Only 102 people are currently being treated for Coronavirus. The number of beds has not been reduced even though the impact was minimal. There will be 555 beds available until January 15."

He also said the number of people affected by dengue and swine flu was lower in the current year than in previous years.
